Creative Artists Agency — the Hollywood and sports talent agency founded in 1975 by Michael Ovitz and four colleagues who left William Morris together. CAA became the most powerful agency in entertainment by "packaging" — bundling writers, directors, and actors from its roster into whole projects that studios couldn't realistically refuse. Studied in business schools as a case in leveraged network effects and as a cautionary tale about conflicts of interest. Worth referencing as a template for "bundle your own customers into the offer" thinking.
