Who they are
Susan Kare designed every original icon, typeface, and visual element on the Macintosh 128K — the smiling Mac, the command key symbol, Chicago, Geneva, the trash can. Her pixel-level craft is why the first Mac felt warm and personal instead of industrial, and she established the visual grammar that every modern OS still borrows from. She later designed icons for Facebook, Pinterest, and PayPal.
