Who they are
Co-founded Coinbase in 2012 and took it public in 2021 — the first major US crypto exchange to list on a traditional stock exchange. Armstrong is known for two founder-relevant things beyond crypto: (1) his 2020 "mission-focused company" memo that told political-activism-at-work employees they could take severance and leave, which many tech founders have since copied, and (2) his extremely public bet that crypto infrastructure is the eventual rail for money, not a trading casino.
