SupportWire — Direct Founding-Customer Outreach
Built 2026-06-22. The fast path to a paying customer — people PUBLICLY rage-quitting Intercom over Intercom Fin's $0.99/resolution pricing. This is the revenue engine; the agency co-sell (follow-up-emails) is the slow recommend-motion.
The honest state of this list: every thread, quote, and URL below is real. But Reddit blocked username extraction during research, so most leads need a 60-second click-through (open thread → grab username → check bio for a linked product/site). One fully-named, reachable founder surfaced: Shyamal Parikh (SmartTask). Treat the Reddit/IH items as "reply publicly, helpfully, then DM" — that converts better than a cold DM anyway and fits the "do things that don't scale" playbook.

Subject: re: your Intercom pricing post
Hi {First},
{Personalization hook — their actual words, see each target.}
That's exactly why I'm building SupportWire — AI-native support, one flat published price, no per-resolution meter, no surprise bills.
We're pre-launch and I'm onboarding a few founding customers: locked pricing for life, a direct line to me, and I'll handle your migration personally.
Want me to spin you up a workspace so you can see it? Takes 3 minutes.

B. Public thread reply (Reddit / Indie Hackers — be useful, not spammy)
{Answer their actual question first, genuinely — one or two real sentences of help.}
FWIW the per-resolution model is the exact reason I'm building an alternative (SupportWire) — flat price, AI included, no resolution tax. Not trying to pitch you mid-thread; happy to share migration notes either way. DM me if it's useful.
Lead with help. The pitch is a footnote. A genuinely useful reply earns the DM.
Tier 1 — Reply publicly, then DM (highest intent, in-market NOW)
1. r/SaaS — "is there a better option than Intercom/Fin AI"
- Highest-intent query type there is — literally asking for a replacement.
- Quote: "is there a better option than Intercom/Fin AI… messages are not consistently showing up on the list."
- Source: r/SaaS (confirm exact slug when you open the sub)
- Action: Public reply (Template B) → DM the OP. Hook: "You asked for a better option than Intercom/Fin — that's literally what I'm building."
2. r/SaaS — "Migrating from Zendesk + Intercom. Anyone using AI…" (2026, very recent)
- Team mid-migration, doing the Fin-per-resolution-plus-seats math right now.
- Quote: "Intercom Fin is $0.99 per resolution… once you factor in seat costs ($29–132/seat/month)…"
- Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/1tadxgf/migrating_from_zendesk_intercom_anyone_using_ai/
- Action: Public reply → DM. Hook: "You're mid-migration doing the Fin-plus-seats math — SupportWire collapses that into one flat number. I'll migrate you personally as a founding customer."
3. r/customerexperience — "What are you paying per month for AI support agents…"
- Warmest lead = the commenter who already ripped Fin out.
- Quote: "Oh god, we just got rid of Fin. Cost way too much and didn't even work the way we needed it…"
- Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/customerexperience/comments/1ly3qaj/what_are_you_paying_per_month_for_ai_support/ (comment …/n3hxbf6/)
- Action: DM the "got rid of Fin" commenter. Hook: "You mentioned you just got rid of Fin — cost too much and didn't work how you needed. That's the gap SupportWire fills: configurable AI, flat-priced."
Tier 2 — Named / reachable people
4. Shyamal Parikh — Founder/CEO, SmartTask ⭐ strongest direct lead
- SmartTask (smarttask.io) — bootstrapped PM SaaS, Ahmedabad. Textbook ICP (B2B SaaS, onboarding/trials).
- Quote: "They say cough up 880$ per month to continue. LOL! I wonder where they come up with such figures."
- Source: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/pay-880-per-month-intercom-75338ba796
- Route: LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/shyamal-parikh/ (active). Email pattern
s***@smarttask.io— confirm via site footer. - Action: Email (Template A) or LinkedIn. Hook: "You posted about Intercom asking $880/mo to continue — 'I wonder where they come up with such figures.' For a team like SmartTask, SupportWire is one flat price, AI included, no seat-creep, no resolution surprise."
5. "Fr3tzl" — Indie Hackers (unexplained $800 bill spike)
- Bill-shock persona, exactly on-message.
- Quote: "a price increase in two months of an extra 800 bucks without any explanation… trying to figure out where the spike comes from is impossible."
- Source: same IH thread as #4
- Route: IH DM (@Fr3tzl) — check profile for linked product/Twitter.
- Hook: "Saw your comment about Intercom adding $800/mo with no explanation and being impossible to trace. SupportWire's whole pitch: one number, every month, no detective work."
6. jaredcornell / jessicaleo — Indie Hackers repeat Intercom critics
- Lighter leads. "Intercom is one of the most expensive customer support tools out there." / "so expensive for no particular reason."
- Source: IH thread as #4
- Route: IH DM. Hook: "You said Intercom is expensive for no particular reason. SupportWire is the opposite by design — one flat price you can explain in a sentence."
Tier 3 — Reddit threads, OP needs a 60-sec lookup
7. r/SaaS — "FK Intercom"** (40+ comments) — venting the resolution model. https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/1lw7lqn/fk_intercom/ → public reply / DM OP. 8. r/SaaS — "The 'AI Tax' is real. I analyzed 215 recent Intercom reviews" (Nov 2025) — analytical, shopping. https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/1p8c4cx/ → DM OP. Hook: "Your '215 reviews / AI Tax' post nailed it — Fin works, but you can't predict the bill." 9. r/SaaS — "$0.99/resolution pricing model is the future" — DM the dissenters in comments, not the OP. https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/1s45fd1/ Quote: "5,000 resolutions a month is paying $5k just for the AI layer." 10. r/AIStartupAutomation — "most AI support bots in 2026 are too expensive" — "$74 monthly seat fee just to start, plus $0.99 every single time Fin resolves a ticket." Open sub for slug + username.
